Story
My boys and their boats
I became involved in designing and making bespoke bags from upcycled sails purely due to my family and their love for sailing.
Our shed was full of unwanted / discarded sails, and to prevent these going into landfill, I took on a new project to repurpose and transform these sails into bespoke bags.
A local beach swimming group "The Jolly Swimmers", had set themselves a challenge to swim the Channel, in aid of raising funds for a hydro swimming pool for a Special School in Chichester.
Their training for the swim was gruelling, especially during the Winter months.
I wanted to support them, so designed and made each swimmer a swim / change bag.
These bags were completely handmade from recycled sails and were designed to be practical, lightweight, spacious and unique.

With a reinforced bottom and integral changing mat, allowed changing on stones and uneven ground less uncomfortable, and drawstrings for easy access for cold hands.
Since then I have featured in "Coast Magazine" and various open water and wild water swimmers, as well as, sailors have approached me to design their own bags. ​
